Totally Gorgeous

Yes, I rode to work today.

And . . .

I'm hard pressed to think of a reason a person wouldn't have been riding today if they could.

It was totally gorgeous.

The Courthouse is getting its windows washed. I wondered if I would have to move Billie.

No problem. The crane body is in the street and the boom went over top of our rides. It is the cars who will have to move.

A few years back the windows were being washed the crane body was on the sidewalk and broke through into a sewer or some such underground cavity. It made for some excitement. As I ate my lunch at Subway I had a great view of the Fire Department rescuing the window washer. If the "bucket" at the end of the boom had been a few feet either way instead of being against the building he'd have plunged through a window and quite possibly into a courtroom. That would have been real exciting.

Tomorrow is the weather is supposed to be lovely again. September is usually a wonderful month in St.Louis. If the forecast for the week holds it seems September has remembered itself.

  • 53F/12C and all clear for the ride to work.
  • 75F/24C with a few clouds for the home ride.

  1. You have to snatch those last waning days of summer. Our septembers are usually stunning and this one is holding true to form.

    1. Every year there is a hot air balloon race here in St. Louis. It used to be at the beginning of November, but it seemed it was always getting rained out. The National Weather Service was consulted and September was the pick month of the year. The Race hasn't been canceled once since the change. And while everything else has been crazy, September has continued to be sweet.

  2. A beautiful day. I enjoy this time of year when the heat dissipates but the cold hasn't returned.

    1. In most things it is the in between times that are most precious. It certainly is with the weather here in the Midwest. Spring and Fall are wonderful although the Spring brings storms. It was sure beautiful today.
