And, I decided, at least for the next little while, I am going to reprise the photo I took last Friday on the first morning of each work week.
I think it could be fun to see how the sky changes over time. So, Martha here is your window onto the St. Louis sky.
With the clouds last Friday night I missed out on seeing the Blue Moon, but I did catch its waning self this morning before it disappeared into the Sun's light.
The forecasters are saying thunderstorms are possible nearly everyday this week. Ah, now this sounds more like it. By the way, the numbers are in. This was the fourth hottest Summer on record. (Click here to read about it) I was a little surprised to find out last Summer had been for the fourth hottest until this Summer bumped it down a notch. But, as the article points out, last summer had lots of very warm overnight temperatures, whereas this Summer was blazing hot during the day. I suspect this plus the incredibly warm Spring coupled with the lack of rain added to the overall feeling of this Summer being much hotter than last.
Now, we welcome September and its promise of hit and miss showers. Sounds plenty fine to me.
- 74F/23C with a few clouds for the ride to work.
- 91F/33C and plenty of sunshine for the home ride.
I always wait to get my email version of what you have posted on this blog. It came so late I was already gone to bed...But how nice to see this post this morning!
ReplyDeleteI just love that photo of the moon. And those clouds are certainly early morning clouds.
Very nice idea to show the morning skies. I'll be watching through the window.
Thanks for the idea. We are entering the best cloud time.
