And . . .
I was the only one who did. The forecasters were predicting a very good possibility of severe weather A cold front was to move through our area. The severe weather didn't pan out. We did get some rain, but it was over quickly and was long gone before my ride home. Behind this "event" is suppose to be what a friend of mine calls "Resort Weather". As always, we'll see.
I didn't take any photos today, but here are some from our last Saturday's trip out to Shaw Nature Reserve. (You can click here to go to their website)
Loved this new walkway. Lots of places to hold on for those of us who are timid. Also, the water is very shallow.
This was near another pond.
I loved the swirls.
The water lilies were blooming.
I have no idea what kind of tree's fruit this is.
This is no doubt some kind of skimmer, but I figure dragonfly is close enough.
We got to the reserve early and it was warm. By the time we left in early afternoon the heat index was over 100F/38C. It was a good time to head home to the air conditioning.
The rest of the week we'll have lows in the the upper 50'sF. Quite the change. I suspect I won't be the only one in the lot tomorrow. And, besides, Chieftain Rider is due back from vacation.
- 74F/23C and a few clouds for the ride to work.
- 80F/27C and mostly cloudy for the home ride.
Lovely pics Keith. For months I have been the only one riding to work, over the last week or so a few more bikes are showing up in the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteI need to go back and find some photos from when I first started riding to work. There were bikes and scooters everywhere. Times have changed. There aren't as many of us who ride now.
DeleteWe actually watched the National news last night and they mentioned the bad storms across the mid-west and into the east coast.
ReplyDeleteSounds chaotic.
Beautiful photos. I am glad the weather cooperated for your outing.
It was plenty warm, but the rain held off until late in the afternoon. We didn't get the really brutal stuff. Glad you like the photos. I tried to get some photos you hadn't seen already :^)
DeleteAwesome shots, Keith. The dragonfly is my favourite. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI like the dragonfly, too!!!
