Yes, I rode to work today.
Traffic was fairly light. It is Good Friday and many folk either had the day off or took it off. Most of us Court employees were dismissed early. It was a glorious day to be set free.
I spent some time in Tower Grove Park. I wanted to see how the pine trees fared after last weekends snow. Not good I'm afraid.
As I was leaving this bike pulled up across the street. I saw a number of bikes and scooters out enjoying the Spring like weather. I also saw two Volkswagen Beetle convertibles. I noticed yesterday an Ad about the 2013 Beetle convertible. I mentioned to Heather I did even know the 2nd generation Beetle had a convertible option. She said she'd seen them. When I looked at some photos of them, I suspected I'd seen them, but they had always had their roofs up and I just had overlooked them. Today I didn't overlook them. I saw two. I wonder how long before I see a new 3rd generation 2013 Beetle convertible on the road? I'm on the lookout now.
- 43F/6C with some clouds, but lots of sunshine for the ride to work.
- 60F/16C and glorious for the home ride.
Is that what your building looks like? Those are nice older buildings.ReplyDelete
I love that new Beetle. But the hardtop really makes it all come together for me. Still, a convertible can be a really nice ride :^ )
No, our building is newer. I think late 1940's. I agree those are some very nice old buildings. There has been a lot of rehabbing going on in that area.Delete
I, too, like the new Beetle. I think it is more like the original. It is difficult for me to even think of it as a convertible...obviously :^)
Glad you got to enjoy the weather - temps even a little better here today, up to plus 10 C ... but silly me, I thought we were given holidays in order to clean and catch with the necessities of life that we don't have time for when working....of course it could include going for a motorcycle ride if one's motorcycle wasn't buried deep inside a storage facility.ReplyDelete
So nice to have some spring like weather. We've been seeing more and more and more bikes on the road here too.ReplyDelete
Sad about the trees breaking. After effects of the storms, not much we can do about the force of Mother Nature.
Have a good weekend.
