Melting

Yes, I rode to work today.

And . . .

I was pleasantly surprised when I checked on the traction available on my street this morning. I'd expected the runoff from yesterday's melting to freeze over, but instead it dried out. It was easier getting out of my street this morning than it was yesterday afternoon.

When I got to work it seemed obvious where I was suppose to park.

It warmed up nicely during the day.

A lot of snow melted today. Tomorrow we are probably going to get more snow to replace what left today. And so it goes.

By the way, I did a time test on the Fly gloves. Set at 50% power they last a little over 6 hours. I was surprised and pleased. I mentioned this to my Supervisor who is an avid hunter. His comment was, "Yeah, wait a year and see how long they last."  So much for sharing the joy.

  • 22F/-5C, calm and pretty clear for the ride to work.
  • 47F/8C with a few clouds for the home ride.

  1. Pretty reasonable time with the gloves. What type of battery is it? Lithium-ion?

    1. It is a Lithium-ion. I suspect I will be running them on the lowest setting with the Symba. With higher speeds and no hippo-hands the setting will be higher on the Kymco. We'll see. They were nice to have during the cold snap. I wore them on the days I drove. They really are mobile heat.

  2. Sounds like sounds like your supervisor doesn't have faith in the battery longevity. Hope you can prove him wrong.

  3. Hi Keith , it will be interesting to see how the little simba copes with the demands on current / power usage .
I am very confident with my GTS300 , I feel I could run quite a lot of gadgets through it ...... But my old lambretta ... I am not so sure.
Interesting stuff ... Love the first picture , the sun light tells me warmer climbs are a coming!!

    1. Yep, mobile. The Symba could have handled gloves or grips. I decided to go with grips. My mechanic had a pair of these and liked them so I decided to try them. So far they have exceeded my expectations. My supervisor is correct, we'll know in a year how good this deal is.
