Daffodils

Yes, I rode to work today.

And . . .

The big news was daffodils.

And  blooming trees.

On the way home I caught a glimpse of Deputy Chrome-Head. I don't talk about him much even though he rides his red 49cc Kymco to work nearly everyday. He parks his scooter in the Deputies area at the Civil Courthouse. Sometimes in the evening I'll see him. When I worked in the Civil Courthouse I'd occasionally see him in the elevator. He told me when he rode his wife got to sleep in and she liked to sleep in, so he rode whenever he could. Now that I work in the Carnahan Courthouse I only see him on the road.

It won't be long and this corner will look much different. Soon these shelves will be full of plants waiting for a home.

The Weather Channel said "Rain to Begin at 7:30 PM" and the radar on the National Weather Service Site looked like all the rain was south of us. Ah, but I've been through this before. The smartphone went into the waterproof backpack and the rain liners went in the pants. Sure enough, I rode home in a nice steady Springtime rain. It was wonderful.

  • 42F/6C and clear for the ride Downtown.
  • 58F/14C with a nice steady rain for the homeride.

  1. Like your new Spring black :^)

I'm afraid I won't be handling plants professionally this year- the first time in a long time. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about that, but this is a G rated blog. Honestly, it breaks my heart to not be working as a greenhouse grower.

Nice to see your fresh rain.

    1. Martha,
My heart isn't happy about you not working as a greenhouse grower either. Nothing more to say. It is what it is.

  2. So glad to see all those daffodils blooms.

Spring rains can be a nuisance but they sure make everything green up and pretty.

    1. I don't might the rains as long as the storms aren't severe. We may be in for the first big hit of the season tonight. We'll see.

  3. Finally Spring is springing for you! I love it when everything is out in blossom. I can live with spring rain as long as it is fleeting and not torrential.

    1. Dar,
Yes, as long as the storms rumble through and leave me time to get to work and home I'm very happy to have the rain. Our water table can still use replenishing.

  4. I love the handlebar muffs. I find mine are excellent in rain and keep my hands warm as toast when I venture Up North. Yours look good (mine flop).

    1. I love my handlebar muffs, too, and for the very reasons you mention. They seem very stable and certainly don't flop at the speeds I travel on the Symba. This is my first season with them and I certainly picked a good winter to have them.
