Easy On Two Feet

Yes, I rode to work today.

And . . .

By morning the severe weather had moved out of the area.

There was plenty of standing water to witness to last night's downpour.

The name of the game today was wind. I'm not fond of wind. Today during my commutes I'm told the winds never gusted to over 40mph, still it got my attention a couple of times.

At lunch time I went for a walk on the Tucker Street bridge over the railyard. This is a view I get every evening as I ride home. There's nowhere to pull off to take a photo from the bike, but it's easy on two feet.

Lots of puddles

In the morning I have this view from the bridge.

And I've become rather fond of this electrical tower.

I ride by the old Police Station, too.

It is an incredibly dull looking building. Flat, square and gray ...

The flags look much happier in the wind than I felt.

... until you come to the entrances.

It has always seemed just the right touch to me.

Of course, City Hall has its own Birthday Cake.

  • 45F/7C and breezy with light rain for the ride to work.
  • 47F/8C and mostly cloudy for the home ride.

  1. Very impressive hallway, as if you entered into another world.

    1. With it being the entrance to the Police Station perhaps your observation was literally true. I suspect many a person has found themselves entering another world passing by that way.

  2. Good to know you all are OK. Waking to the sound of the siren...awful. I'm sure that's in my future.

Love, love that last photo of the cake at City Hall!

    1. I was very glad they moved the cake from inside. It had been located in the rotunda. This way more folk can see it. And, I think it fits perfectly where it is now.

Yep, Siren Season in these parts.

  3. Some really neat buildings downtown. I like the touches at the entrance.

For some reason the train picture was my favorite.

    1. I like trains. There is just something about them. I don't even get upset having to wait for them.

Yes, lots of wonderful old buildings Downtown. Many looking very tired. Sad.

    1. Glad you like my view of the Arch. Yes, one could use photoshop....but, then it wouldn't be what I see everyday would it?
