Talking About The Weather

Yes, I rode to work today.

And, the big talk today was about the weather. Not the weather today, but the weather which may or may not happen come Sunday. Some folk were saying they heard we are going to get twelve inches of snow. Others said six inches. The forecasters at the National Weather Service in their discussions are saying St. Louis sets on the boundary again. We are as likely to get two inches or less as we are to get eight. What I find most interesting about all the talk is none of this is suppose to happen until Sunday. Today is Friday. Tomorrow has the chance to be a pretty nice day with warmer temperatures than we've been having all week, yet all I heard about was Sunday.  I sometimes think people just like to scare themselves. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about Sunday's weather until I get up Sunday morning. After all, it isn't like there is much I can do about anyway.

If you get a chance to ride, please, be safe and ride strong.
  • 32F/0C and cloudy for the ride to work.
  • 43F/6C and overcast for the home ride.

  1. Sunday we MAY get half an inch. Whatever you get in the form of moisture it will get going where it needs to get very quickly. Enjoy.

Yesterday I could see Blogger photos. This AM I can not. It's simply that the motel has horrible internet service now. They "fixed" it and this is the result. Miserable.

Count down to getting out of here: First week of April.

    1. I like the sound of "Count down to getting out of here." Staying tuned.

They've increased the snow amounts, but in the discussion area they are still not sure where the boundary will be. It is warmer than expected. We will see. I really don't mind. I'll be checking the weather on the fly when it really is what it is.

  2. Isn't it funny how people tend to focus on the negative instead of the positive - which could be a nice today.

Hope you don't get too much snow and can still go for a ride today and tomorrow.

    1. I got in both a inline skate and a ride today. Tomorrow? I don't think so. It definitely looks like snow...then again, I haven't played in the snow with Billie in awhile. Maybe I will get in a ride :^)

  3. Martha's predicted 'freshening' is much the same as ours; not that we really need a nice new coat over what's already here. There was lots of settling, some melting and gentle progress was made with today's mid-30's. I saw some magical sun dogs just before sunset.

Incredibly, 8pm with light in the sky and what in too many places is still over a foot of snow on the ground. 13 weeks from our longest day???

The best of luck to you Keith!

    1. We will see what happens. Whatever snow we get doesn't look destined to remain with us very long.

At least I don't have a long driveway, although I live on a City side street and they don't plow anymore, so it can get interesting.

  4. Keith, I'm one that believes it when I see it. I enjoyed the mild weather on Saturday and thought so little of the possible snow that I put away my snow shovel... I have since wished I hadn't put it away. I'm guessing that my daughter flush a ice cube down the toilet last night and wore her PJ's wrong side out as there is at least a foot of snow Click Here for Pictures in the burbs and I'm guessing you to have a bit in the city also. I do hope it stops soon so that I may clean the drive one more time before I turn in for the night.

    1. Yep, we got some. Like you I was taking a wait and see attitude. I was out driving around in it until 2pm, but have stayed in the rest of the afternoon. It looks like you have a little more than we do. And, I'm not jealous one bit.
