The Sandals Aren't Mine

Yes, I rode to work today.

0700CDT
Well, my gear has settled in at work.

The sandals aren't mine.
It's not as nice as the closet in the once upon a time Presiding Judge's office, but it works just fine.

I'm still getting used to the old familiar. I'm back in Criminal Records. I'll be working with paper for a little while. Things have gotten a little out of hand since I left. Once I get things caught up I'll start scanning criminal files.

I finally got situated at my own desk late this afternoon. Tomorrow I hope to feel more settled and be a little more productive. With all the change of the last couple of days, I was particulary grateful to be able to ride after work. Today it was definitely tonic for a weary soul.
  • 31F/1Cand a couple of clouds for the ride to work.
  • 46F/8C and cloudy for the home ride.

  1. That looks sort of like fireman's garb.

    1. Well, it has kept me dry. When the helmet is closed it is more colorful. It's taken three years, but I have gear that works really well for the cold season.

  2. I wish I had a place to hang my gear. I just lay everything over a chair. :(

    1. I used to have to lay/throw everything over a chair. I know how lucky I am.

  3. Change can be a pain sometimes. At least files are nice and quiet to deal with. I am always amazed at how much paper our criminal files take up, then we just scan them when done and toss them in the shred bin.

Glad you have a place for your gear even if it isn't a swanky closet.

    1. We both know someone who isn't so lucky to have a place to store his gear at work.

I've worked with both Civil and Criminal records and some of the Civil files grow into box after box. Storage of all this paper is a real problem and that is the engine driving the move to electronic files. I was much more settled in today.
