A Swelling

Yes, I rode to work today.

Today my Angioedema visited me again. It had been gone for a couple of months and I'd hope it had, at the very least, went South for the Winter. Better still, would have been if it had moved to, let's say, Arizona and left no forwarding address. No such luck. Oh well, it is merely an inconvenience. My particular kind doesn't effect the breathing and isn't very painful . . . just annoying. And, what is Angioedema? It is a swelling akin to hives but beneath the skin rather than on the surface.
A thing of beauty it ain't. This was a mild onset.
By evening it had run its course. I was not sorry to see it go.
  • 32F/0C and overcast for the ride to work.
  • 27F/-3C with a few clouds for the ride home.

    1. I was better soon.
The swelling was pretty much gone by lunchtime. The real problem is the big doses of Benedryl I take to limit and shorten the onset. It wears on me. As long as my face doesn't swell so much I can't get my helmet on, I'll be fine.

Thanks for your well wishes and for stopping by.

  2. I'm certainly glad it is not painful. Kinda looks like you got clocked. Tough guy... ;^)

    1. Tiny,
The milder onsets do make me look like I've got a fat lip. The more severe ones have me looking more like the missing link between ape and human.

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face with your comment.
