We'll See

Yes, I rode to work today.

Today it was back to being mostly gray. There was a dampness in the air which made it feel colder than it was. It was one of those days where even though the temperature was ten degrees Fahrenheit  warmer at lunchtime than during the morning ride time it felt colder.

I debated on whether to leave the base layer off for the ride home, but remembering the chill in the air at lunch I didn't. I should have left it off. I was a tad bit over warm on the home ride.

Tomorrow could be rather interesting. The National Weather Service Map has everything from Blizzard warnings to Tornado warnings with wind warnings and advisories as well. I don't think I've ever seen the map so colorful. There are eight different colors on it.

Will I be riding to work tomorrow? We'll see.
  • 34F/1C and overcast with haze for the ride to work.
  • 45F/7C with a light drizzle for the home ride.

  1. I checked your NOAA map. After living here for several years I've gotten used to the expectations of seasons and have found myself disappointed not to get lots of snow and hard cold (that's all good agriculturally speaking) in the winter.

Your 47 coming up would disorient me now. I suppose I could get used to that after some years. But I think even you have a permanent sense of what winter should look and feel like, being a Michigan boy.

    1. Yep, winter is still in my bones. In one of my jobs here the office manager was from Steven's Point. When it would start to snow both she and I would be excited and energized. Our co-workers, all Missourians, were completely confounded by our reactions. I still get excited at the first snow, but I'm afraid after three days I'm ready for it to be gone. I do like it when I can get the snowshoes out a couple of times a year...even if the snow isn't really deep enough for them to make much difference.
