This was yesterday:
This was today:
And, tomorrow night there could be snow.
A friend commented today that St. Louis is the only place she has ever lived where she has had her air-conditioner and heat on in the same day.
It was Autumn yesterday, Spring today, and by Sunday it is supposed to be Winter. Oh well, I guess this is now how goes the seasons.
- 51F/10C with a few clouds hanging around from yesterday for the ride to work.
- 61F/16C and mostly clear for the home ride.
I like today's picture much better for obvious reasons ;-)
ReplyDelete:^) I think I understand why.
DeleteWhen I lived in Denver, one day the temps dropped 72 degrees. And that wasn't even into the night. It was daylight. 90s to 20s with hail.
ReplyDeleteYou are approaching the goofy weather season anyway, aren't you? You can see spring on the horizon already even if a few ice storms get in the way.
Martha,
DeleteI used to think January was pretty stable and the cold month here, but who knows. And, February? It can be anything. That's when the weather here usually gets serious about being goofy.
I've heard the temperatures can drop like a rock in Colorado. We had a 50 degree drop a couple years ago. No fun.

The weather sure has been changing from day to day. We woke to 20˚F and freezing fog yesterday and it didn't warm up beyond 32. Today we woke to 28 so it is a little better.
ReplyDeleteI hear rumors of sunshine this week, but I won't hold my breath.
Thanks for sharing the photos.
I hope you get some sunshine. Freezing fog is a riding condition I am very pleased to have no experience. It sounds totally nasty.

We had actual 40's last week and sunshine, a combination that took almost all of our snow. That with decent amounts of rain left things wet and potentially dangerous for the cold that has followed. Luckily the strong winds and timing of when everything took place left us without the ice it could have.
ReplyDeleteLooking out the window this morning, I saw an almost fog and with bare ground, it would have been easy imagining a possible brief ride and then a thermometer check showed +4 and a stiff enough breeze.
However, mid-January already and a relatively easy winter so far. Leaving before daybreak with temps above zero is a "win" around here; everyday it's not puts us that much closer to the next good change.
So far it has been quite mild here again this winter. And, that was what the good folks at NOAA predicted. Nothing puts moisture into the ground like snow and we need moisture. So, I find myself hoping for snow and a nice melt.

Just about like SW Ohio. Had the furnace off all weekend while it rained, temps in the mid 60s.
ReplyDeleteNow it's sunny and in the lower 30s.
Tomorrow, who knows?!
Yep, it has been a roller coaster. It was 66 Friday and 18 this morning. Sadly, the rain and a big temperature swing occasioned tragedy down on the Ozark Trail this past weekend. A father and two of his sons when for a day hike on the Ozark Trail and never came back. So sad. Got to be careful!
