I hadn't realized I'd forgotten my camera until I went to take my customary first photo of the week. Oh well, I was running a little late anyway.
It warmed up quite a bit by the afternoon and the winds remained light. A nice commute to begin the New Year.
- 15F/-9C with some clouds and calm winds for the ride to work.
- 30F/-1C and little more cloudy for the home ride.
Keith, just maybe your camera did what it could to stay cozy and warm at home.
ReplyDeleteCoop,
DeleteIt just might be. I must admit with the gloves I find myself wearing these days taking photos is difficult. I have to take off a glove and so not many photos are being taken. Maybe my camera islike my Grandpa's old hunting dog. If you kept missing what she flushed, she'd just park herself and not hunt anymore.
I took it today and didn't use it. Oh well, it is a casualty of the colder temperatures.

ReplyDelete"Although I'm usually nice and toasty in my gear, wind chills when it is this cold are very difficult on my co-workers." Fingers stiff from the cold? ; )
This is my first winter with heated grips. Wow! Yes, the tips of my fingers still get cold and the hands do stiffen up a bit, but I'm wondering how I survived before.
DeleteI amazes me what some of my co-workers wear to work and then complain about how cold it is.
What a shot. What a view. What a city.
ReplyDeleteMartha,
DeleteThe photo was the silver lining for forgetting my XP. Most of my mornings begin by taking files up to a courtroom on the eighth floor. Most of the windows have wire in the panes, but there is one pane that has been replaced with clear glass. It has become a favorite spot to use the camera in my phone. Since I missed the 7am photo I was determined to get one as close to 8am as I could. When I looked out the window all I could say was, "Wow".
And, yes. St.Louis is quite a City.
Brrrr. Good on you for still riding in those temps. Our very short New Years Day ride told me I'm a weather weenie.
ReplyDeleteMy Lady,
DeleteWe all have our gifts and our follies. Being drawn to the cold commute is probably both for me. I know you know this already, but I'm going to say it anyway: There is nothing wrong with being a weather weenie. :)
