This was one of those mornings when the draw to just keep going was very strong.
Since I was having dinner with my daughter-in-law after work I rode Isabelle today.
Billie stayed home.
If I would have kept going Isabelle and I could have been halfway to somewhere before they even knew I was gone.
But, I went to work and after work had a lovely time with Sarah.
Maybe one of these days I'll just keep going.
Maybe.
- 30F/-1C and clear for the ride to work.
- 50F/10C and a nice sunset at quitting time.
As nice as it would be to keep going in the mornings somehow I think the bosses would object.
ReplyDeleteNice to dream though isn't it?
And, I'm so rule bound I'd never do it, but as you said, it is nice to dream.
DeleteKeith, it's odd, but I haven't had that impulse yet. I think it's because I like to leave a little earlier and pause mid-commute at an outdoor café to read the morning paper over coffee. That, and commuting on an island there is a kind of boundary issue that insulates one from the open road. You have to have a plan to achieve escape velocity, you can't just drift into it. I wonder if Manhattanites feel the same way?
ReplyDeleteDavid,
DeleteI had some of those issues. Finding my way over the Mississippi, the Meramec, or the Missouri took planning and was quite the adventure on the Symba, but with the Kymco...I have reached escape velocity :)
