And, a Deputy I've seen around the Courthouses, but have never talked to came up to me this morning. He told me he was glad to see I rode today. He said it just seemed wrong seeing me walk in the last couple of days without my gear on. "Now the world is back to normal," he said. Wow, I didn't know my riding had cosmic consequences.
This was another one of those mornings when riding to work meant I didn't have to clean the frost off my windshield. If it wasn't so dangerous watching people trying to drive without cleaning the frost off their windows it would be rather humorous. As it was, it was just terrifyingly pathetic. One fellow in a pickup truck was weaving all over the road, but refused to stop and either clean his windshield or let the truck warmup enough to clear it of frost. Maybe I should start carrying some "You! out of the gene pool" buttons to hand out to those who are truly worthy of being recognized. Then again, maybe not...at least not while my escape vehicle is Billie.
And, this is for Coop.
We got us some tough tulips here, too.
I'm feeling better today, still not great, but much better.
- 25F/-4C and partly cloudy for the ride to work.
- 45F/7C and mostly cloudy for the home ride.
Thanks Keith. Let those tulips inspire you back to full health!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome and thanks for the well wish. I hope you Mom's tulips are doing as well as these seem to be. Today all the snow is gone from around them, but there is a chance for snow come the weekend. I think this winter while fairly mild is determined to drag on.

Glad you're feeling better. I like the sticker, and could probably distribute them by the minute to cagers up here...
ReplyDeleteYes, there does seem to be many drivers determine to prove the truth of the survival of the fittest. Oh well, that might be okay if they didn't often take others down with them.

I am also happy to hear you are feeling better. In old days they would probably say you needed to be "bled" for spring!
ReplyDeleteI think that gene pool sticker would get a lot of use in your area. I'm speaking from experience with that part of the world...Maybe I need out of the pool, too.
Tulips. What are those? Can't recall... :*^ C
Martha,
DeleteFunnily enough the photo was in response to Coop's comment about seeing some very tuff tulips up in his neck of the woods. Tulips, daffodils, and crocuses astound and surprise me every year.
Glad you made it back on two wheels. All is right with the world.
ReplyDeleteI can never understand why people don't clean off their windows or wait until the defrost. An extra few minutes is all it takes. Sigh.
Brandy,
DeleteYou can't cure stupid. I'm afraid the answer to why people don't clean off their windows is just that simple.
