As I was sitting in the Cafe looking out the window I saw this Spyder. Looks like maybe someone was going farther than to work today. Heather and I test rode a Spyder a couple of years ago. Neither of us fell in love with it, fortunately. I hope this couple love their Spyder and were off for a nice long ride. The next three days are supposed to be spectacular.
- 37F/3C with a few clouds for the ride to work.
- 60F/16C and plenty of sunshine for the home ride.
Enjoy following your two-wheeled adventures! I finally was able to pull out my Symba this past weekend and rode into work for the first time yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWelcome! Chris thinks I should put a third wheel on my Symba and then I would be able to ride on the few days I can't already.
DeleteIt is great to hear from another Symba rider. Ride on!

Maybe they are snowmobilers in the winter and are comfortable riding in that position and with that kind of steering. Would be weird not to lean over.
ReplyDeleteWhen I told Mike T. I test rode a Spyder he said, "You probably didn't notice, but it doesn't lean." I think he was commenting on my riding style :^)
DeleteOne of the reasons we looked into a Spyder was my discomfort with doing 2up on two wheels. My aging knees was another. Heather found it comfortable, but was sort of, "What's the point."
It is its own ride. It is more like riding an ATV. I could get used to riding one, if it wasn't so ugly.
I never liked the look of the those myself.
ReplyDeleteMe, either. I was just being practical in a very impractical sort of way.
DeleteKeith, I'm not sure what the demographic is for Spyders, but I think Trobairitz has it pegged. They're asphalt Skidoos (but no lean, please). At least the Skidoos and Seadoos lean.
ReplyDeleteIn my limited experience Seadoos lean, but Skidoos slide through the corners. There are so many "nanny" sensors to keep the Spyder from tipping over it doesn't lean nor does it slide through the corners. Like I said above, it is totally like riding an ATV without the ability to run through mud and snow.
DeleteI remember talking to a dealer about them at one time. He said they are popular with more experienced riders that don't want to give up riding but don't want a trike or trike conversion kit for what ever reason. They also offer more storage without the "bulky" look.
