Clear Enough

Yes, I rode to work today.

And . . .

Once out of my alley it was pretty clear sailing. There were a couple places where I'm guessing water mains had broken, but I saw them in plenty of time and was able to navigate my way through them without incident.

The motorcycle parking area was cleared enough.

The temperatures continued to hover around freezing. There was plenty of sunshine. There was lots of melting going on.

The ride home was even less eventful than the ride in.

  • 25F/-4C with some patches of fog for the ride in.
  • 31F/-.5C and plenty of moonlight for the ride home.

  1. It still looks pretty dicey to ride on the ice!

    1. There really wasn't much ice once I got out of my driveway. There was some snow along the edge with some traction. At first I thought I would have to walk the Symba out to the street. This is one of the big benefits of having a wee bike, I can push it around almost as easily as a bicycle.

    1. Kari, you can bet if it wasn't a matter of feet I'd not ridden either, but I have one way of "beating" my alley which I mentioned in my comment to Richard.

  3. I rode to Sandy Creek yesterday and the roads were clear. A little cinder built up in the big S curves but just changed my path :) The rest of the week looks like a great ride to work week!

    1. Yeah, if not for the leaks from our venerable municipal water system and my alley all would have been clear as well. I took Gravois in this morning and it solved all of yesterday's problems...except the alley.

  4. Your alley sure doesn't look fun to navigate. I can see how it is the worst part of the commute with that ice left on it.

    1. It may be even worse tomorrow with it refreezing tonight. Could be slick. After another warm day it should be just fine.
