Sparkle

Nope, I didn't ride to work today.

And . . .

Even if the Symba were 100%, I wouldn't have. We had our first snowfall of the season over the weekend. The streets were nearly completely clear. On my way in I noticed a couple of spots looked icy. Not worth the risk.

Tonight is supposed to be colder than last night.

I miss seeing the stars at night. The City lights blot them out. That said, I have to admit on a cold wintry evening it sure is nice to have the color and sparkle.

  • 19F/-7C and fair for my morning constitutional.
  • 22F/5.5C and breezy for my stroll from the Courthouse to my car.

  1. Despite the reason for being there, I loved living in Seattle, but I missed the stars at night too. I guess the city lights have to be the stars.

Someone elsewhere mentioned how bad their drivers were at first snow. How is it in your neighborhood? Does everyone need to relearn driving in snow?

As you've probably heard, Oregonians are reputed to be terrible drivers in the snow. :D

    1. Missouri drivers have a reputation for being pretty bad drivers in the snow, too. I'm not sure you can relearn what you never knew. Fortunately this snow wasn't much of a driving hazard. Whoopee! We still have that to look forward to.

  2. I like the human element in night lighting (except for one neighbor who lights us up like an airport). Now I find more comfort in the glow of city buildings and downtown shops.

    1. Yes, "the glow". In the summer I miss the stars that are obscured by all the light pollution, but come winter I'm most grateful for all the light.

  3. Good choice on not riding. Ice is never good on two wheels.

Heck sometimes I can't navigate it on two feet.

    1. I didn't see any ice on my way in or out, but this wasn't a day to risk a ride even I could have. Now tomorrow ...
