And, there were lots of people Downtown today. It is the the weekend of the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Championship, better known as: Arch Madness.
At lunchtime it was folks wearing blue.
After work they were wearing yellow.
Traffic, too was heavier than normal. This evening I was especially happy to put the Downtown in my review mirror.
It's the weekend. Be safe and do beautiful things.
- 31F/-1C with a few clouds and a little haze for the ride to work.
- 51F/11C and a little cloudy for the home ride.
Keith, I forget; how long is your commute if you go mostly direct?
ReplyDeleteI don't follow basketball but love your tournament's name :)
It's not a very long commute. It is a little over 10miles each way. I'm not sure what you mean by direct, but I wouldn't call it that. I use mostly residential side streets with lots of fourway stops, stoplights, and if I want one traffic circle.
DeleteI believe this is the twentieth year for the tournament. It is a big deal. Sadly, basketball is one of the few sports I have no interest in.
College basketball aka "March Madness" is something I endure to get me through to "Opening Day", which in Cincinnati is the beginning of the regular Reds game season and used to be the "official" first play day of professional baseball across the country.
ReplyDeleteBut I do root for UK Wildcat blue...ain't gonna lie! LOL
Nice post!
I have to drive by OSU's Reser Stadium to take the easiest smoothest way to work. On days where there are major sports events happening I try to avoid it, but all roads lead through campus.......
ReplyDeleteThe sports events are inconvenient but at least they bring some $$ into the local economy.
