Fizzled

Yes, I rode to work today.

And . . .

The first wave of the Winter Storm expected to hit St. Louis fizzled out. I went to bed thinking I would be driving today and that didn't happen. I left the condo expecting to ride home it the rain and that didn't happened either. It was a lovely riding day.

Mardi Gras is upon us. City Hall is ready.

It could be rainy, cold and miserable tomorrow for the festivities, but it will be a better day than Sunday. Sunday I truly expect we'll get hit with a doozy of a storm...ice, sleet, and snow, oh my.

  • 20F/-7C and partly cloudy for the ride in.
  • 46F/8C and plenty cloudy for the ride home.

  1. What are the colors? Lights? Reminds me of Holi!

    1. Martha,
Yep, lights. Mardi Gras is a big deal here. Fortunately for the revelers the weather was surprisingly nice Saturday. I imagine there were many memories made ... and a few blackouts as well.

The colors of Mardi Gras are green, purple, and gold. The gold turns out being yellow often. Not as colorful as Holi :

      :^)

  2. I had the same question. It looks like someone threw colored chalk on the bricks, or is there more to the picture?

    1. Richard,
It is done with light. It was just the right time for the effect of chalk. Earlier one wouldn't see it at all and just a little later it would be obviously lights. Another lucky moment.

  3. Glad you managed to dodge the storm. Hopefully the next one fizzles out too.

    1. It really wasn't much of storm where I live. I hear up North they got ice really bad on Saturday night. I'm glad we didn't have that. It was still a good excuse to just hang out Sunday. The only I was out was when Heather and I walked over to the Cafe for some breakfast. I read and slept and read some more. I liked it.
